Wintersport

Travel arrangements

Our annual ski trip is by far the most popular event, we've had up to 65 people coming - tho around 30 is normal.

Here you can find some handy info on how to get to the resort, we usually stay in Tignes.

Travel by car

The journey to the alps is approx 12hours, though that will vary considerably due to traffic.

You will DEFINITELY need winter tyres and/or snow chains as the road to the resort can be snowed over.

You MUST have a reserved parking spot, the village is car free so after unloading you will need to park your vehicle in one of the underground car parks - cost is approx 80 for the week and needs to be reserved. (let me know and I will reserve it with the accomodation.

Toll charges are around 80euro, tho this will change each time depending on the route.

If you are driving TELL EVERYONE via FB or whatsapp - you might find people wanting to share.

Travel by plane

Flying is of course possible. Most people fly to Geneva and catch a bus from the airport straight to the village.

KLM Easyjet and others fly direct from Amsterdam but you can often find cheaper options from other Dutch airports (Rotterdam)

The bus journey from the airport is 3/4hours depending - there are a variety of companies.

Altibus

Bens bus

Booking in advance is recommended.

Travel by Train

There is an early morning train from Amsterdam Central - stopping at a few places in the Nederlands.

It leaves at 5.30am (ish) and takes about8 or so hours to get to Bourge st Maurice (for Tignes) or Moutiers (for Val Thorens)

You can book your trip on the NS International website.

From the end station you need to catch a bus up the valley - the journey is about an hour - you can see links to the bus companies in the flying section.

For the train it is much cheaper if you book early. Some people travel there by train to enjoy the journey, but return via plane as the return train journey arrives in Amsterdam around midnight

Travel by bus

There is a bus that leaves Amsterdam has some stops in the Nederlands and will take you to the resort - not always a direct bus however.

This is by far the cheapest way but it takes quite a few hours - this is the only company I know of that makes the trip
